Aging By Michelle Disser. The Theme.

“Aging is a continuous process” states Michelle Disser in the poem “Aging”. The theme of this poem is that you will get older rather you like it or not. Disser also uses an extended metaphor, she does this by comparing aging to a “panther stalking you”. Some people find that aging is a part of like, and they would “consider their selves lucky”. And some people want to get older faster so they can do more stuff, just like you would “bid [the panther] to come closer”, but then you feel like your getting to old, to fast and you “wish it to stop”. But it won’t stop, and you just keep getting older while the panther is charging towards you, at you, and all the sudden out of nowhere “It pounces” aging and the panther would both have a huge impact on your life.
